Keeping Heat In!

Just as we forecast in last week’s blog post: Snow has arrived in the UK! Almost all the country has seen snow in the past week, with some places getting substantially more than others. Snow would not begin to fall if it were not cold enough, and it has certainly been cold enough. On the subject of cold we thought we’d use this blog to share some tips for a warmer home.

  • Check for Draughts. Draughts can really lower the temperature of your home, losing you heat and money. Walk around your home and check all windows and doors for draughts.

  • Use your curtains. Opening curtains in the day will allow the suns warmth to enter your home. Closing them at dusk will ensure it doesn’t escape.

  • Invest in helpful devices. A roll of rubber draught excluder will be no more than £10 at a local hardware store. Radiator insulation foil to stop heat entering the wall will be £15. There are many products out there that will cost you little and save you lots.

So stay warm this winter and save money on heating bills.
